Festival of Lights holiday competition results

HAMBURG Eight exhibitors participated a recent gingerbread design competition at The Fairgrounds in Hamburg. During this on-site event, participants were given an hour and a half to decorate a gingerbread house. The pieces were provided and exhibitors had to construct the house, as well as decorate it with all-edible embellishments that they brought with them. Below is a list of the winners:
Gingerbread competition winners: First place Diane Lafferty of South Wales; second place Laura Wiltse-Tibbetts of Hamburg and third place Debra Vertoske of Lancaster.
During the second annual wreath-decorating competition, 23 exhibitors brought wreaths to be judged and displayed at the festival. Festival-goers stopped by the display in the Expo Hall, to vote for their favorites.
Wreath competition winners: First place Kara Siulc of Hamburg; second place Marcia Spencer of Elma and third place Patti White of Buffalo.
A stocking competition was also held; 13 adult exhibitors and three youth exhibitors participated.
Stocking competition winners: First place Lacey Harris of West Seneca; second place Nakiya Harris of West Seneca and third place Helena Kottas of West Seneca (junior). First place White; second place Kristine Schultz of Blasdell and third place Ann Nowicki of Orchard Park (adult).
