HAMBURG — New York State Assemblyman Sean Ryan joined the Southtown Teachers’ Center at Pegasus Restaurant in Hamburg for a celebration breakfast on Feb. 8, to honor two teachers who have recently been certified as national board teachers by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. National Board Certification honors teachers across the country, each year.
The celebration breakfast recognized teachers Lori Mancuso and Heather Hebler.
Mancuso has been an educator for 15 years; she began teaching with the Upward Bound Program at the State University of New York at Fredonia. She now teaches at West Middle School in West Seneca.
Hebler has been an educator for 18 years; she began teaching at the University at Buffalo English Language Institute. She is currently a teacher at Frontier High School in Hamburg.
Ryan said, “We all know that teachers across our country are dedicated professionals, and Heather Hebler and Lori Mancuso are prime examples of the great teachers we have in New York.
“Heather and Lori have achieved national recognition for their outstanding hard work and dedication to student learning,” he added. “Achieving the National Board Certification is no easy task, and I congratulate Heather and Lori for all the work they did, to achieve this tremendous honor.”
