HAMBURG — The Hamburg Town Board selected the Woodlawn Tiki Bar to run concessions for the next three years at Woodlawn Beach.
Robert Bieber, who has been in the marine business for 30 years, and who operates Colombo’s on Lakeview Road, beat out 10 other proposals to run concessions at the beach.
“I’d like to thank all three town officials in selecting our proposal to provide concession services at Woodlawn Beach,” Bieber said. “Our community-oriented, family approach champions a public-private partnership that will produce sustainable economic growth for the life of the contract. With this in mind, we look to provide an entertaining and safe environment for people to enjoy Woodlawn Beach State Park. Our strategy is simple. We focus on people.”
Town Board Member Michael Quinn Jr. said, “I think it was the theme we were looking for. The menu fit the theme; a lot of different things just seemed to fit into the family atmosphere that we’re looking for.”
The Woodlawn Tiki Bar will provide live music four nights per week, partnerships with local Hamburg vendors and free Wi-Fi access for all patrons.
In addition to a diverse food menu, the business will offer kayaks, canoes and paddle boards for rent, rental of beach umbrellas with service to each umbrella, and fire pits. “After this winter, I’m sure everyone is looking forward to a summer on the beach,” Bieber said. “We hope to see everyone at Woodlawn Tiki Bar.”
