Langford goes country with down-home weekend

LANGFORD — The Langford-New Oregon Fire Company’s Down-Home Country Weekend will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3 and Sunday, Aug. 4.
The event will take place in Langford on routes 75 and 249, 11 miles south of Hamburg.
The gates will open at 3 p.m. on Aug. 3. Music will be performed, throughout the day, from 4 – 11 p.m. A concert and jamboree, featuring Jason Michael Carroll and Steve Holy, will be presented at 7.
The 90 West American Ride Band will also be featured, as well as masters of ceremonies provided by WYRK.
A 2,000-square-foot dance floor will welcome attendees to stomp their feet to the music.
A chicken barbecue will kick off at 5 p.m. No carry-ins will be allowed.
There is a charge for adults. Children younger than 12 will enter for free.
The Western New York Championship truck and tractor pull will kick off at noon on Aug. 4. This event is sanctioned by WNY Pro Farm Pullers, the NY Tractor Pulers Association and Empire State Pullers Association.
The tractor pull will feature 12 classes of modified, two-wheel drive trucks, super farm stock, light and heavy super stock, light and heavy pro farm, limited light super stock and Pro Street 2.6 diesel 4-by-4 trucks.
There is a charge for adults. Children younger than 12 may attend for free.
This event is being sponsored by Native Pride of Irving, Save-A-Lot of North Collins, Superior decks and Gazebos of Angola, Steve Baldo Chevy-Buick-Cadillac of North Collins, Bowman Farms of North Collins and Gateway Recycling of Cheektowaga.
