BLASDELL — Applebee’s restaurants across the country, including those in Western New York, have asked local communities to visit www.thankyoumovement.com, with a message of thanks to American military personnel.
The public may visit the Thank You Movement website, to show appreciation, until Veterans Day, Nov. 11. The community that submits the most messages will be declared the “most thankful neighborhood” and will receive a free concert from Gavin DeGraw.
The winning neighborhood will be announced on Veterans Day; the concert will be held on a future date. Individuals may also submit thank you messages on Facebook at www.facebook.com/applebees, Twitter via
@Applebees or on Instagram and YouTube, by utilizing #ThankYouMovement.
“I’m happy to be part of the Applebee’s thank you movement and extend my thanks to our service members for all they have done,” DeGraw said. “They are the definition of selflessness, dedication, devotion and sacrifice. Please join me in thanking our heroes, by sending a thank you message.”
Since 2011, Applebee’s has received more than 4.5 million personal messages through the Thank You Movement website.
“We’re thrilled to have Gavin DeGraw serve in this year’s Thank You Movement,” said Stephanie Griffin, director of marketing and public relations, T.L. Cannon Companies. “We are excited to have our neighbors post their thanks and won’t be surprised to hear that Gavin is heading to Western New York, knowing how the community supports those who have served.”
Applebee’s will again invite military service men and women to its restaurants for a free meal on Veterans Day. The Applebee’s restaurants have served approximately 4 million veterans and active duty military members on Veterans Day.
On Nov. 11, veterans and those on active duty, with proof of United States military service, may choose one free entree from Applebee’s Veterans Day menu.
Guests will need to provide proof of service, which includes: a U.S. uniform services identification card, U.S. uniform services retired identification card, current leave and earnings statement, Veterans Organization card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DD214, citation or commendation.
The offer is valid for only dine-in customers.
The local Applebee’s restaurant is located at 4405 Milestrip Road in Blasdell. For more information, call 824-5550 or visit www.applebees.com.
