HAMBURG Braving the cold drizzle of a late November afternoon, 40 freshmen loaded the back of a truck with a literal ton of food.
Saint Francis High School in Athol Springs held its annual Thanksgiving food drive, during the week of Nov. 18 22. This year, the drives cans and boxes went to support Saint Lukes Mission of Mercy, an organization with which St. Francis has interacted with many times, during the years.
This years food drive was organized by the schools campus ministry program. Students and faculty members donated more than 2,800 pounds of food.
Collecting without added incentives, the students surpassed last years total by more than 1,200 pounds.
