HAMBURG — It is day six of the 174th Erie County Fair. Gates open at 9am. Adult admission is $10, senior (60+) is $7 and kids 12 and under are free. Guests who arrive before 11am and pay just $5 admission.
Canned food donations are being collected at every gate for the Food Bank of WNY. Cash donations of $5 or more will get you an Erie County Fair drawstring bag.
It is a One Price Ride Day! Guests may purchase a ride all day wristband for $25 on the midway. Guests who bring an original Tops receipt will receive $5 off and pay just $20 for a wristband. Each rider must present an original receipt to receive the discount.
You will not want to miss the Ice Cream Eating Contest. Participants will be challenged to eat as much of a half-gallon of ice cream as possible in just 5 minutes. Eaters may sign up beginning at 12:30 at Pine Grove Stage for the 1pm contest. You must be 18 or older to participate.
The Gizmo Guys are back with their comedy act at the Tops Avenue of Flags Stage. This duo does it all from cup stacking to juggling and acrobatics! See them perform at 6:15pm and 9pm.
Stop in an see SkyRiver Butterflies. This unique experience allows fairgoers to get up close to hundreds of Monarch Butterflies. Located next to the Conservation Building the walkthrough exhibit is FREE, however, guests may purchase a feeding stick for just $1.
Today is the day of the 4-H and FFA Swine, Poultry and Rabbit Dressing Contests. Kids will showcase both their livestock and their taste in fashion. The Swine contest is at 5pm, the Rabbit contest is at 7pm and the Poultry contest is at 8pm. All of the dressing contests will take place in the Showplex.
It will be another change over night at the Fairgrounds. Many of the livestock will be leaving the Fair and heading home. We will be spending the night restocking the barns with more animals for the second half of the Fair.
The Buffalo.com Grandstand will host viral teen sensation Austin Mahone, with special guest Jake Miller. Mahone became a hit when he posted videos on YouTube, now he is touring the country as an opener for Taylor Swift. The concert begins at 7:30pm. Tickets are still available, can be purchased at the Gusto Ticket Office located next to the Grandstand, they are $25 or $40.
