HAMBURG — New York state provides secondary drug coverage to eligible seniors, to help these individuals afford medications, through the Elderly Pharmaceutical Coverage Program.
EPIC members must be enrolled in a Medicare Part D drug plan, to receive benefits. EPIC will provide secondary prescription coverage for this plan and EPIC-covered drugs, after any deductible is met. The program will also cover many excluded drugs.
Eligible seniors will be in either the EPIC fee or deductible plan.
Individuals must be NYS residents aged 65 and older and meet income guidelines to be eligible.
A NYS EPIC regional outreach representative will be on hand to answer attendees’ questions and enroll eligible seniors at the Hamburg Senior Center, located at 4150 Sowles Road in Hamburg, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 16.
Bring proof of 2012 income, including Social Security income, and a Medicare identification card.
