HAMBURG — The 28th annual Great Lakes Beach Sweep will be held from 10 a.m. – noon on Saturday, Sept. 21, as part of the International Coastal Cleanup.
In the town of Evans, Grandview Bay will be having its beach cleanup at 10 a.m. on Sept. 14.
Last year, 916 volunteers of all ages reported, from Woodlawn State Park to Westfield.
A total of 5,645 volunteers cleaned 244-plus miles of shoreline and removed 62,633 pounds of debris in 24 New York counties, last year.
The base will be at Woodlawn State Park and a picnic will be provided for all volunteers. There is free admission and free parking.
Students may also participate, as well as those who need volunteer hours or a certificate of attendance.
