Christmas in the Country was recognized as the No. 2 contemporary and classic artisan market in the nation by “Sunshine Artist,” an arts and crafts publication.
The event has been ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 in the nation, for the past 10 years. Christmas in the Country is now celebrating its 29th anniversary and attracts approximately 60,000 visitors, during four days.
This event will be held at The Fairgrounds in Hamburg from Nov. 7 - 10.
This year, Christmas in the Country will host more than 400 artisans, spread throughout five buildings. Attendees to the event will find many handcrafted creations, including home décor, gourmet foods and wine, original music, jewelry, handpoured aromatic candles, children’s toys and clothing, pottery, original wall art, gifts for pets and holiday gift items.
“This is an opportunity to make gift buying and shopping very meaningful,” said Sally Kaczynski, the founder of Premier Promotions. “The selection of products at this market is comprehensive; there is truly something for everyone.”
This year, many new artisans will join the Christmas in the Country event, as well as attendees from years past.
“Despite the success of the event, we are constantly looking for new and talented artisans,” said Daniel Kaczynski of Premier Promotions, producers of the event. “We want to make the event fresh and innovative, while still keeping the favorite traditions intact.”
The organizers of the Christmas in the Country event are focused on giving back to the community.
This year, the participating non-profit groups include Kathleen Mary House, Churches in Action, Hamburg Eden Animal Rescue Team, Variety The Children’s Charity of Buffalo and the Hamburg Presbyterian Church. “Helping those in need has always been who we are, both as a company and people of this community,” Kaczynski said. “Many of the artisans donate products for auctions and raffles, as well.”
Many local artisans have reported that Christmas in the Country was their highest-grossing event of the year. “The artisans really represent the very best of our country: hardworking, ingenious and determined small business people,” Kaczynski said. “And to see the community support them to this extent is very gratifying.”
