HAMBURG — Saint James United Church of Christ, located at 76 Main St. in Hamburg, will present Journey’s End Refugee Resettlement at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 16.
Andy Cammarata, a Journey’s End community liaison, will share information about refugee resettlement in Buffalo, specifically about the Making A Connection Program. MAC is an educational readiness program supported, in part, by St. James last year. It addresses the needs of refugees and offers English as a second language classes, employment training, skill-building and internship placement.
Maryann Reichard, a Journey’s End English tutor and St. James member, also will share some of her experiences working with the refugee population.
Church and community members interested in attending may collect and bring contributions for a “home again” starter kit, including coffee, tea, cereal, rice, macaroni, canned soup, paper towels, shampoo, soap, brooms, mops, buckets, laundry soap, lightbulbs and similar items.
For more information, contact the church at 649-6171.
