The Rev. Michelle George Yates
HAMBURG — The Rev. Michelle George Yates is the new consulting minister for the Unitarian Universalist Church of Hamburg.
She will speak to the congregation on the fourth Sunday of each month, participate in the leadership of the church and provide pastoral care.
She said that she will concentrate on membership growth, worship and religious education.
She is a student minister finishing up her studies at the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School; she will earn her master’s degree in divinity next May and will then start the process toward ordination.
This past year, she did a chaplain residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
She grew up in Depew and attended the UUC of Amherst. She graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2003 with a double bachelor’s degree in psychology and in health and human services.
She currently lives in Rochester with her family.
