HAMBURG — Nine members of the Buffalo Jazz & Swing Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. on April 12 in the third and final concert of the first music concert series offered by Hamburg United Methodist Church. The group will perform in the main gathering area of the church, which is located at 116 Union St. in Hamburg.
The Buffalo Jazz & Swing Band, which was formed in 1983, plays a variety of musical styles, including works by artists such as Glenn Miller, the Dorsey brothers, Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé. Rumbas, sambas, waltzes, classic rock ‘n’ roll, big band standards, slow ballads, blues, and jazz are all part of Buffalo Jazz & Swing’s library.
“We are looking forward to hosting Buffalo Jazz & Swing,” Paul Staley, HUMC organist and choir director, said. “Guests will be invited to let their dancing style show. We’ll have space for cutting a rug, as well as seating just right for toe-tapping.”
Refreshments will be available. There is a charge to attend. For more information, call Pat Adema at 627-5566.
