Eden high school students present ‘The Wedding Singer’

EDEN — Students at Eden Junior/Senior High School are working on putting the finishing touches on this year’s production of “The Wedding Singer.”

This musical is loosely based on the 1980s film of the same name. The cast, crew and pit orchestra, totaling almost 100 students, are preparing for the show nights.

The production will be held Thursday – Sunday, March 6 – 9. All performances will take place at 7:30 p.m., except for Sunday’s, which will be held at 2 p.m.

The show has been selected as a finalist in the Kenny Awards; students will know the results at the presentation of awards at Shea’s Performing Arts Center on May 10.

This year’s ensemble is made up of more than 20 seniors, many of whom have appeared in school productions since the seventh grade.

Parents and supporters will host a chicken/rib barbecue from 3 – 6 p.m. on March 6. To purchase tickets, call 992-3936.

The Eden High School Band will host a Rosina’s spaghetti dinner from 4:30 – 7 p.m. on March 9. Tickets may be purchased by calling 992-3637.
