Angola Park Concert
On Wednesday, July 17 Angola Park and Gazebo Committee Summer Lawn Chair concert series will have a show from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Cahal Dunne will be presenting an Irish Stage show. This event is sponsored by Evans Township Lions Club Inc.
Refreshments and handicap parking are available. In case of rain, the concert will be relocated to The New Angola Theater on North Main Street.
Yard & rummage sale
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will hold a yard and rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 12 and also 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 13. There will be a bake sale on both days as well.

HOME (Housing Opportunities Made Equal) will be be having a landlord training seminar on Monday July 15 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Angola Village Hall.
The training is free and open to the public and informational brochures for both landlords and tenants will be provided. Participating landlords will receive a free copy of the Guide to Landlords’ Rights. Anyone interested in learning more about fair housing and landlord-tenant law is encouraged to attend.

Blasdell Summer Park Concert
90 West will be performing at the Blasdell Summer Concert Series on Wednesday, July 17. The show begins at 6:30 p.m., is open to the public and free admission.
It is located at the JFK Playground, 2 Grafton Ave.
Blessing of the animals
All community members are invited to attend a special blessing of the animals, which will be held on Sunday, July 21 at Faith United Church of Christ of Boston.
Outdoor worship service will be at 9:30 a.m. Bring a lawn char and for the safety of the animals and participants, have your animal leashed or properly contained.

Grace for the Journey
Grace for the Journey, a support group for those who are seriously ill and their families and friends, will be held at Faith United Church of Christ. The goal of this group is to support our neighbors and friends who are going through difficult times.
The group meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the church.

5th annual McKinley Mall Pet Expo
Ten Lives Club, an Ambassador for the Purina® Pro Plan® Rally to Rescue® program, is hosting an adoption event on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to raise awareness and funds for pet rescue and help local homeless dogs and cats find permanent homes.
The 5th Annual McKinley Mall Pet Expo will feature many local pet organizations including rescue/adoption groups with pets available for adoption, suppliers of specialty pet items and food, the Ten Lives Club Whisker Wheel, and much, much more.

Boston Community Worship Service
An interdenominational worship service will be held on Sunday, July 28 at the Boston Lions’ Shelter locates behind the Boston Town Hall.
The service will take place at 10 a.m. and all community members and friends are welcomed.
The Rev. Loren McGrail, a missionary from Palestine, will be the guest preacher at this service. Communion will be offered.

Boston Park Summer Concert
Five to One will be performing at the Boston Summer Concert Series on Tuesday, July 16.
Each concert of the series will take place on Tuesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Bring a lawn chair and friends.
The concerts will be held at the Lion Shelter in Boston Town Park. The events will happen rain or shine; in case of rain, the concerts will be held at the Town of Boston Community Room.
‘Bug Out’ Insectival Tifft Nature Preserve
A celebration of insects and their crawly kin is planned for Saturday, July 13 at Tifft Nature Preserve
People of all ages can drop-in between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for this family-friendly event and explore the spectacular world of insects.
Planned activities include, insectival theme crafts, sweep-netting for insects, eating edible insects like freeze-dried cheddar flavored meal worms and chocolate covered ants, Madagascar Hissing Cockroach races, aquatic insect exploration at the 75-acre cattail marsh, learning about the importance of honeybees and the challenges they face, and more.

Faith United and Good Shepherd Church summer schedule
Combined summer worship services for Faith United Church of Christ in Boston and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be held at 9:30 in July and August.
Services will be held at Faith Church on July 14, and 21. Services will be held at Good Shepherd on August 4, 11, 18, and 25. An interdenominational community wide service will be held on July 28 at the Boston Lions’ Shelter. Members from both congregations, as well as friends and community members, are welcomed at these joint services.

The Eden Historical Society will host it’s annual “Picnic with ASA” at the Eden Methodist Church Hall at 6 p.m. on East Church St., Eden on Tuesday, July 16.
After the Chicken BBQ Dinner with salads, corn-on-the-cob, and strawberry shortcake, Denise Reichard will give a dramatic presentation on Amerlia Earhart.

Immaculate Conception Parish will begin their Summer Festival with Polish Day on Saturday, July 13.
There will be a Polish folk Mass at 4 p.m. followed by a pork chop dinner, theme baskets, raffle and music.
Starting at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 14 in the Parish Center, there will be a chicken BBQ dinner prepared by Weidner’s in addition to more music and raffles.

Cowlesville Flea Market
The local Soldiers’ Angels volunteers will have a booth at the 29th Annual Cowlesville Flea Market from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 14.
They will be accepting change donations, non-perishable items like shampoo, toothpaste and sunblock.
Volunteers will be selling drinks, baked goods and raffle tickets.
The event is held rain or shine.
The Cowlesville Flea is located at Bullis Road on Route 354.
Eden Summer Concert
Creek Bend will be performing a blue grass concert at the front steps of Eden Elementary School on Tuesday, July 16 at 7 p.m. for the Eden Town Concert series.
Each concert in the series will take place from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Tuesday evenings during July and August. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. The concerts will be held on the front grounds of the school (Rt. 62 in Eden). In case of rain, the concerts will move inside the auditorium.
Shepherd’s Troupe at HPC
Shepherd’s Troupe, a group of people with disabilities, will be presenting a 9:30 a.m. sermon at Hamburg Presbyterian Church on Sunday, July 14.
They use mime, sign language and singing and at times worship dance to a variety of music. Their message: We were created for worship. Their mission is to spread the message of the Gospel through worship, share God-given talents and create new opportunities for those who have disabilities.
This event is open to all.

Annual Garden Walk
The Buzz Around Hamburg 9th Annual Garden Walk will take place anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 at the Memorial Park bandstand.
The walk will present and reflect the labors and creativity of their owners. Maps for the self-guided tour will be available. Coupons for village restaurants and businesses will be included in the brochure. There will also be a Vendor Fair. All participating gardens will be marked with the “garden participant” sign.
The event is free and open to all. It will happen rain or shine.
The Memorial Park bandstand is located at the corner of Lake Street and Union Street.
In conjunction with the the Hamburg Garden Walk, the Garden Club will present a Small Standard Flower Show at the Community Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 13.
The show is open to the public and free of charge.
The Community Center is located at 107 Prospect Ave.
Grace Lutheran open house
The Grace Lutheran LCMC will hold an open house from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013.
Learn about ministries offered by the church; there will be a bike rodeo, bounce house, and at 11:30 a.m. until sold out there will be a chicken BBQ provided by Stan Kolicks. Dinners are $9 each or three for $25.
All are welcome.

Hamburg Summer Concert
Roadrunners will be performing Wednesday, July 17 at 7 p.m. for the Hamburg summer concert series.
Each concert will take place on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. for the remainder of the summer. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
The concerts will be held at Memorial Park, intersection of Lake and Union Streets. The events will happen rain or shine; in case of rain, the concerts will be held in the Union Pleasant Elementary School auditorium.
Hamburg High Class of 88’ reunion
Hamburg High School class of 1988 will hold their 25 year reunion from 7 - 11 p.m. on Friday, July 19 at the Brierwood Country Club in the Pavilion.
There will be a cash bar.

Scranton Ladies Auxiliary
The Scranton Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Chicken BBQ and theme basket raffle from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 21 at the Scranton Fire Hall.
It is $8.50 at the door and either eat-in or take-out.

Chiavetta’s BBQ at Trinity Church
Trinity Episcopal Church will hold a Chiavetta’s Chicken BBQ on Saturday, July 13, from 1-5 p.m. during the Hamburg Garden Walk.
Tickets are $8.50 pre-sale and $9.50 on the day of the event. You may dine in at our picnic shelter or take out. Dinner includes cole slaw, potato salad, roll and butter, and beverage.

Lynn Jay, award-winning local artist, will offer art classes during July and August.
From 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. she will offer watercolor classes for adults on Thursdays July 11, July 18, Aug. 1, and Aug. 29. Students may select any 5 classes for a $50 fee, adding additional classes as they wish.
A step-by-step learning process will allow student to learn from basics in a hands-on approach; covering shading, laying a wash, and texture.Pen and ink drawing classes will take place from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from July 10 through Aug. 28. Students may select any six classes for $60 adding more classes as they wish.

The Shriner’s of WNY will have a chicken BBQ from noon to 5 p.m. or until sold out on Sunday, July 14.
