Penn Dixie camps open

HAMBURG — Penn Dixie will hold eight weeks of science summer day camps offered to girls and boys between the ages of 8-12. Four weeks consist of five-day camps at Penn Dixie and the other five-day camps are in collaboration with Evangola State Park, Past and Present Science and Nature Store, and Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve.

These camps provide an opportunity for girls and boys to learn about science-related topics, while having fun and experiencing many areas of the natural sciences and world around them. The Penn Dixie Site will be offering a five-day Science Adventure Day Camp from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on July 7-11, July 21-25, Aug. 4-8 and Aug. 18-22. Campers will explore geology, fossils, astronomy, weather, ecology and rocketry at the Penn Dixie Site.

The Dinosaurs, Fossils & Nature Science Summer Day Camp will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on July 14-18 and Aug. 11-15.

Campers will be at the Penn Dixie site Monday and Tuesday; Past & Present on Wednesday and at Evangola State Park on Thursday and Friday. Activities for the weeks will include geology, fossils, dinosaurs and nature-related programs at each site.

The summer Science Safari Summer Safari Day Camp will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on July 28-Aug. 1 and Aug. 25-29. Campers will be at Penn Dixie on Monday and Tuesday; Evangola on Wednesday and Thursday; and Reinstein Woods on Fridays. Activities will include geology, fossils, wetlands and nature will feature the week’s activities.
