Praise offered to the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Co.

Editor, The Sun

On June 1, 1993, members of the Lakeshore Volunteer Fire Company were instrumental in saving my life.

A few weeks ago I again needed their help, this time in a less emergent situation, and was for a second time struck by their professionalism, concern and respect. Both situations presented difficult logistical problems which were handled quickly and with confidence, which was reassuring to myself and my family.

Lakeshore deserves our gratitude and support. If you know a member of this group, thank him or her for the service provided for all of us.

If you are one of these volunteers, please know that your efforts are greatly appreciated.

O’Brien’s owners say rumors about pub are false

Editor, The Sun

We have heard from several sources that there are rumors floating around that our pub is closing its doors.

We want to assure our loyal patrons and potential future customers that this is not true. The restaurant is not on the market nor is it closing. Yvette and I are committed to the restaurant and maintaining the quality of food and service that we are known for.

In fact, we have recently expanded our menu and added happy hour specials. We continue to be committed to our local communities and recently signed on as one of the major sponsors for the Eden Bicentennial and are the major sponsor for the Hamburg Theatre Under the Stars events.

With our phenomenal staff, locally raised and hand cut steaks from our smokehouse in Hamburg, great daily and happy hour specials, and homey banquet room, we know you will find O’Brien’s Pub the place to go for all of your special occasions.

We can’t thank you enough for your loyal patronage and look forward to serving you in the future.

Pat and Yvette O’Brien
and the staff at O’Brien’s

I've never known Father Joseph Bayne to be humble. In fact, I think he likes the spotlight.

I love Fr. Joe Bayne, but, I'd have to admit that he can be narcissistic. Even the other priests kid him about it.

Fr. Joe Bayne is one of those guys who love the spot light.
