Hamburg High School students should be commended for actionsEditor, The Sun
Recent articles were written regarding the parking problems we faced on North Street. Our complaints were loud and clear when we were having issues with a small group of students while they parked their vehicles here. What we witnessed from this group was a general decline in respect toward residence and property and found their behavior quite disturbing. Thanks to the efforts of village officials and the cooperation of the school staff, we now see a vast improvement of this matter on our street.
Now what needs to be written is the positive behavior of another larger group of students. One day last week, my husband and I arrived home to find our front lawn raked and the leaves piled to the street. We assumed it was the act of one of our kind neighbors. Instead, to our delight, we learned the Senior Government Class from Hamburg High School raked lawns throughout the village. There were about eighty students out that day and they deserve the recognition. It is encouraging to see our youth giving back to the community. Thank you students.
