SOUTH BUFFALO — On May 29, commencement was held for the 110th graduating class of Mount Mercy Academy. The ceremony will be held in the Mercy Center Auditorium at 7 p.m., following a procession down Red Jacket Parkway. The class of 1964, celebrating their 50th reunion, will form an honor guard as the graduates process through the front doors.
Caitlyn Matuszak has been named the valedictorian of the class of 2014. She will deliver the valedictory address, preceded by Isabella Spann, named salutatorian, who give the welcome address. One hundred percent of the class of 2014 were accepted to college and earned a total of over $10.5 million in scholarships and merit-based grants.
Some of the acceptances from the class of 2014 include: Fordham University, University of Notre Dame, Northeastern University, Purdue University, Cornell University, Carnegie Mellon University, Rochester Institute of Technology, State University of New York at Oswego, John Carroll University, King’s College, Saint John Fisher, Marist College, Niagara University, State University of New York at Buffalo, Daemen College, LeMoyne College, Bard College, Ithaca College, Boston College, Boston University and Nazareth College.
