Eden native receives Carpe Diem award

EDEN — Mercyhurst University named Amber Penna, of Eden, the 2014 Carpe Diem Award recipient. This award is presented each year to a student who has made the most positive impact on Mercyhurst University. The senior addressed the class of 2014 during commencement ceremonies on May 18.

Penna served as the president of Mercyhurst Student Government her senior year. Penna also represented her fellow students on the university’s board of trustees. As a sports medicine major, She is planning on entering the physical therapy doctoral program at Duke University this fall.
