Beulah Mercer will celebrate her 103rd birthday on April 26.
She was born on that day in 1911 in the town of Collins, where she was raised, in addition to the Gowanda area.
During World War II, she worked in Buffalo at the Curtiss Wright Plant, where she helped make airplane parts. After the war, she and her husband bought a dairy farm in the town of Leon, where she resided until she retired from farming.
In 2012, she was presented with a plaque for being the oldest living member of the town of Leon.
She currently holds the title of the eldest resident of the Absolut Care Facility located in Eden.
