The Sun letter to the editor: Supervisor: Give credit where credit is due

Editor:
This letter is in response of the ad in the Aug. 22 Hamburg Sun, by the Hamburg Republican Committee.

This ad states that the supervisor negotiated a single health care plan, saving taxpayers $1,200,000. The numbers are true. But what is never stated is the fact that all five town of Hamburg unions agreed to the plan.

We, as union employees, want to save the town taxpayers money also, as we pay taxes, too, this including our own salaries.

Without all five unions’ unanimously agreeing to switch health plans, this would never have happened.

Ever since this plan took place, the supervisor has never taken the time to mention all the hard work from other town employees behind the scenes. He would like to take all the credit, to make himself look good for upcoming elections.
