The Sun letter to the editor: World spay day thanks

Editor:
Ten Lives Club cat rescue and adoption group used the theme “Males are Prowlin’, Females are Hollerin,” as they participated in the American Humane Society’s 20th Annual Spay Day.

This is the 12th annual campaign held every year, to raise appreciation of Spay/Neuter Awareness Month in February. Spay and neuter is essential to keeping the feline population at a healthy, manageable level, greatly decreasing the amount of stray and feral cats.

Ten Lives Club reached out to dozens of area veterinarians, requesting they offer a free spay or neuter to our organization, in recognition of this important campaign.

We would like to recognize the following vets who responded to help: Eden Veterinary Hospital, Ellicott Small Animal Hospital, Community Pet Care Hospital, Southtown’s Animal Hospital in West Seneca, City Creatures Animal Hospital, Orchard Park Veterinary Emergency Hospital, Buffalo Small Animal Hospital, Concord Veterinary Services of Springville, Dr. Scott Nachbar of Springville, Thorne Animal Hospital of Orchard Park and Dr. Sharon Fisk of Ten Lives Club.

These 11 vets are helping make a profound impact by generously donating a total of 25 spays and neuters to help some of the many cats entering Ten Lives Club.

Ten Lives Club gladly promotes the importance of this worldwide spay/neuter day, and will be recognizing each vet who donated their free surgery(s) with a framed certificate for their office.
