The Sun letter to the editor: Lending support to village senior housing

Editor:
I would like to hope that the village of Hamburg would consider the addition of senior apartments to be an asset.

I do appreciate the concerns over traffic and utilities. I faced the same thing on North Street, with the high school parking and the building of Rite Aide, and I am sure the neighbors of the veterinarian monstrosity on Buffalo Street have very valid concerns.

But senior housing within the village is sorely needed. We donít all want to be warehoused on Route 20.

I live in the Kronenberg building. It is so wonderful to have access to all that the village has to offer, even if I do have to get there with a walker.

Residential traffic is not commercial traffic and you will find seniors interested in making sure landscaping is done. Perhaps they can make village meetings and certainly, we shop locally and eat at our super restaurants.

It is wonderful to continue to be part of village life. Please consider that that land might be used for another drugstore.

Letís look at the plans and see what is proposed.
