Thanks for making Blast on the Beach a success

Editor:

The Hamburg Rejuvenation Committee would like to thank everyone who made this year’s Blast on the Beach a memorable one. Residents of Hamburg came out and celebrated the 100th year of their beloved town park. The event was a day that showcased what Hamburg is all about. A patriotic theme was woven throughout the day. Everyone enjoyed the historical picture display and many shared a story or special memory. Boy Scout Troop 411 raised the flag at 3 p.m., while Billy McEwen sang “The Star Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful.” Frontier Skydivers added to the day with a safe landing with a large American flag. Lance Diamond entertained the spectators on the lawn, while All Hits-No Errors had people dancing on the beach. Later in the evening, as everyone was waiting in anticipation of the fireworks, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of community. Young and old alike were treated to a spectacular fireworks display put on by Skylighters.

Thank you to the members of the community who took time to send pictures. Our picture display would not have been possible without your efforts. The Lake Shore Fire Company always does such an incredible job managing and directing traffic. They take time away from their families to volunteer for their community. Additional support from the town of Hamburg Police Department, Buildings and Grounds and Recreation is crucial to this event. Any problems or issues brought to their attention were resolved quickly. They did an awesome job.

Thank you to our sponsors. They support their community – our community – by supporting this event. Without their financial support, this day wouldn’t be possible. We ask that you support them: Hamburg Gaming & Buffalo Raceway, Appolson’s Performance Center, Fisher Bus Service, Drescher & Malecki, LLP, E. F.
