The Sun letter to the editor: The real truth about Hamburg politics

Editor:In all of the recent political ads by Democrat supervisor candidate Walter Rooth and town board candidate Michael Quinn Jr. refer to ending dysfunctional town board meeting and numerous lawsuits. I have routinely attend town board meeting the past 15 years and, during the past four years, have missed only five, due to business travel.

The leader of the disruption at town meeting is current Councilman Joseph Collins (Democrat). He makes incorrect and unsupported statements publicly, at meeting. When confronted by Supervisor Walters requesting proof of his argument/criticism, he fails to do so. It has been Councilman Collins that has brought lawsuits against board member Amy Ziegler and town employees. It is Mr. Collins who is being sued by a town resident for his action and statements against this individual in a open town board meeting this past year. Mr. Collins has been sanctioned by the town board of ethics and removed as board liaison for various committees, because of his actions.

I have been a proud resident of the town the past 25 years and, during the Democrat-led town board under Patrick Hoak, seriously considered selling my home and moving. The only reason that me and my family stayed here was the Frontier School system and the excellent education my daughter was receiving. Citizens of the town need to find and review their property tax statements during the Gorski/Hoak years and how much your property taxes increased, during this time span and compare to the past eight years.
You want dysfunctional? Elect Democrats and watch your dollars say goodbye. As my dad used to say, "Small minds get smaller results."
