The Sun letter to the editor: Thank you for supporting Hamburg businesses, during Green Friday

Green Friday was a great success.

I want to thank everyone that helped, participated and shopped Green Friday, Nov. 29th. It was my pleasure to create and organize this event that not only got the entire village of Hamburg’s retail establishments together, but also got our most wonderful village citizens coming out in droves, supporting us.

In addition, we had many new visitors from all over Western New York, visiting us perhaps for the first time and seeing what we have transitioned into, over the past few years.

When I moved here from California seven years ago, it was a much different village indeed. I was one of the few retailers that comprised the small business district and now there are so many new ones that have joined us.

That being said, it is imperative that everyone continues to support us every day, so that the ones that are here can stay and even more new ones will want to join us.

The small businesses in the village of Hamburg rely on this mutual appreciation and understanding. Please also remember that the village shops are all along Lake Street and down lower Buffalo Street, as well.

Walkable as the village may be, we’re just a short drive, when walking is not your option.

Don’t forget that the Green Passport to Prizes contest is still in effect, with the turn-in date of Dec. 20th by 10 p.m. to Comfort Zone Café.

There will be significant prizes for first second and third place winners (by drawing), all being supplied by your village small businesses.

If you are going into the participating businesses to get their unique stamp on your booklet, be sure to take the time to look around and notice what they are all about.

This is the reason behind this contest and, if you perhaps decide to make a purchase, then it’s a bonus for all!

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and again, I thank you for your continued support.
