TONAWANDA - Having lived in the City of Tonawanda his entire life, Owner of Mark’s Plumbing, Complete Plumbing and Heating Services, and Licensed Master Plumber Mark Fremont found it easy to choose Tonawanda as the location he intended to work out of upon his graduation from Alfred State College.
Working under the direction of a few Master Plumbers and earning a degree in plumbing has helped Fremont throughout the past 25 years and allowed him to build a successful business in the Tonawandas.
“We just continued to grow throughout the years,” said Fremont. “We do a lot of work in group homes, churches, and we deal mostly in residential repair in the City of Tonawanda; the Town of Tonawanda; North Tonawanda; and Kenmore.”
One thing Fremont always recommends to his customers is having preventative repairs conducted.
“It’s good to take preventative measures in order to avoid a bigger problem in the future,” said Fremont. “I am old fashion. I don’t just like my customers to need our assistance one time, I like them to become repeat customers of ours.”
He added, “I oversee all the work. I come out personally and check out the job.”
Fremont has recently been working with an intern from BOCES, John Raymor, who traveled with trained professionals for two to three weeks where he learned life skills he can apply in the future of his career.
In addition, Fremont has elected to donate $500 annually to BOCES in support of one student, who attends Tonawanda High School and wishes to pursue a career in plumbing.
“Plumbing is all I have done my whole life. I know the area well. I am familiar with the different phases the city has gone through, for example I know of the locations that have copper pipes, etc.”
With 25 years of experience Fremont makes sure to use his education and expertise to the advantage of his customers when he is on site, examining a problem. He noted he is always asking why something happened in order to prevent plumbing accidents from happening again, rather than just fixing the pipes.
Fremont believes his customers deserve a thorough walk through each time his services are needed and makes it a point to take a personal interest in each customers different needs.
His team of seven - his son Cameron Fremont, who works the excavator; his employees Tim, Chris Miller, Tom Frederick, Adam Reinhart, who conduct installations; Pat, who is in charge of all the behind the scenes office work; and Tom Miller, retired City of Tonawanda Fire Chief - each work diligently to continuously better the work that Mark’s Plumbing offers to customers.
