Town leaders do not follow up with residents

Editor:
I recently contacted the current town supervisor, Mr. Steven Walters, regarding a large sugar maple tree at the town-maintained Prospect Lawn Cemetery, which is decayed and threatening to fall on the electric lines for the entire street and onto my property. I contacted Mr. Walters several times by phone and wrote him on May 30, 2013.

I was told, by Mr. Walters’ secretary, that the highway superintendent, Mr. Thomas Best, and Mr. Walters were meeting about the issue several times. Neither Mr. Best nor Mr. Walters ever responded to my repeated phone calls or letter. They have not addressed the problem.

I am writing to make the voters of Hamburg aware of the lack of follow-through and even common courtesy on the part of the current elected Town Supervisor Walters and Highway Superintendent Best.

This is not the first occurrence where I have communicated an issue to the current town representatives which has been totally ignored. No private enterprise would tolerate such complete disregard for a consumer or the lack of follow-through.
