BLASDELL — According to Jeremy Ross, owner and personal trainer at 3 2B Fit, there are three principles necessary to become fit: desire, discipline and balance.
Ross opened 3 2B Fit in May 2011 and has recently moved to a new location. The business’s previous spot was located approximately 50 yards away, in a nearby warehouse. Ross said that the move was made because of a need for additional space and more flexibility.
“This has been kind of my baby,” he said.
Ross has a varied history with physical fitness. When he was first involved with athletics, a high school coach told him that he was not good enough in sports. He said that he gained a lot of weight, during his freshman year at Canisius College. Rather than continuing on with this lifestyle, Ross chased his dream, became involved with the baseball program at Canisius and earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education and exercise physiology.

“You have to prove yourself, to yourself,” he said. Inspired by the words of his high school coach, Ross found a new dream in helping people achieve their physical fitness goals.
The three principles he structured within the business’s name are the foundation of his program, he explained, adding that people must have a desire to become healthy. Discipline: “That’s where we come in,” he said: to help a person gain confidence and do things to get that individual to the next level.
Workouts are adjusted per person, based on the individual’s needs. The third tier, which Ross said a lot of people miss, is balance. He explained that there must be a mental and emotional balance, to “make yourself feel whole,” as he described the concept.
The gym has a variety of workout accoutrements, including dumbbells, kettle bells, bikes, a monkey bar machine that was designed for Ross, and exercise balls. Services include one-on-one personal training or group training. Core training is available, in addition to yoga-pilates classes.
The furniture in the space is all wood, which Ross said is very grounding; he added that the bright lime green walls will inspire “good vibes.”
3 2B Fit is an AED-certified establishment. A defibrillator is on site, in case of emergency, and each employee is trained to use the equipment, in addition to being CPR trained. Ross said that the defibrillator has not needed to be used and he added that he hopes he never has to use it, although it is a beneficial precaution to have.
Of the workouts and equipment available at the business, Ross added, “It’s safe, fun and you can challenge yourself.”
3 2B Fit’s new location is at 3984 Burke Parkway in Blasdell. For more information, visit www.3-2B-fit.com
