Hamburg Town Councilman Joseph Collins will not seek reelection to the town board, the councilman said today (March 7).

"I'm not happy with the direction of the board," Collins told The Sun, adding that he would like to spend more time with his family. Collins recently became a grandfather for the fourth time, with a fifth grandchild due in July and he believes spending time with his family is more important than seeking a second term on the board.

Collins won a seat on the board in 2009 and just started his fourth, and what will be his final year on the board.

"I was never a career politician," Collins said.
