Passport outreach event at Boston Town Hall on Oct. 3

Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs is teaming up with the Boston Town Clerk Jennifer Mulé to offer “Passports on the Move” outreach event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at the Clerk’s Office in Boston Town Hall located at 8500 Boston State Road to accept passport applications, take photos and process payments.

“I encourage anyone who is planning their fall or winter vacation or a college student’s next semester abroad, to come to our “Passport on the Move” outreach and apply for their passport,” said Jacobs. “My office is pleased to make this service available to better serve our customers.”

Those who attend the outreach will be able to apply for a passport card and/or passport book can expect to receive their passport in approximately four to six weeks for routine service. If necessary, the County Clerk’s office offers an expedited service which reduces the processing time down to 3 days.

To process your passport application, one must bring proof of citizenship (original Birth Certificate with raised seal or original Certificate of Naturalization or previously issued passport) and proof of identity (current driver’s license or non-driver ID or student or military card or Social Security card, credit card, employee ID badge).

Payment is to be made by check or money order only, credit cards cannot be accepted. Appointments are required.
