Lancaster High School musicians to present 'An Evening with the LHS Symphonic Band'

LANCASTER- The Lancaster High School Symphonic Band, under the direction of Richard Goss, will be presenting a special concert entitled ‘An Evening with the LHS Symphonic Band’ at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at the Lancaster High School Auditorium. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will showcase this prestigious ensemble and some very talented members of the Symphonic Band as solo performers.
A host of All-State musicians will be featured, including Lexie Hoeglmeier, timpani, performing Robert Leist’s Timpat; Katie Kessler, clarinet, will play the Concertino, by von Weber. Matthew Tichy, trombone, and Nathaniel Watt, trumpet will perform the duet Cousins, by Herbert L. Clarke. Cori Jaskier and Amanda Scranton will perform as vocal soloists. Student director Ruth Williams will conduct “A Song for Lyndsay" with Katelyn Fridmann, Kayle Stewart, and Victoria Ruggiero performing noteworthy solos throughout this selection.
The Lancaster Symphonic Band will also perform works by Stephen Melillo, John Williams, Percy Grainger, as well as selections from the popular musical, Les Miserables. Symphonic Band seniors and Lancaster instrumental music faculty members will be recognized during the concert.
