Run the ‘Burg for Autism on June 1 has course through Village of Hamburg

The annual J.P.’s Foundation’s Run the ‘Burg for Autism, a 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, June 1 starting at 11 a.m. in the Village of Hamburg.

The race course winds through the heart of the village and this year will come down into the village’s Buffalo and Main streets business corridors.

Participants will start by J.P. Fitzgerald’s, 4236 Clark St. and head down Buffalo Street. They will continue to race down Buffalo Street, turn right on Highland Avenue, turn left of Hawkins Avenue, left onto Maple Avenue, turn right back onto Buffalo Street then continue down to Main and Buffalo streets go around the roundabout, exiting heading east on Main Street, turn left onto Hunt Avenue, turn right onto Huntington Court, left onto Charlotte Avenue, left onto E. Prospect Avenue, right onto Buffalo Street, right onto Clark Street and with the finish right by J.P. Fitzgerald’s.

Pre-race registration and pre-race packet pickup on Thursday, May 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, May 31 from 4 to 9 p.m. at J.P. Fitzgerald’s, 4236 Clark St. Cost to preregister for runners over 10-years-old is $20, those 10 and under are free and $70 for a family of two adults and up to four children.

The cost to register on race day is $25 for anyone over 10, free for children 10 and younger and $70 for a family of two adults and up to four children. Post race party admission for non-race registrants is $5.

Race day registration and race packet pickup will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 1.

Checks should be made payable to: J.P’s Foundation.

The post-race celebration will include food, drink, basket raffles and live music will be provided by Five to One.

Awards will be given out to the top three runners in each of the nine age brackets and T-shirts will be handed out to the first 1,500 registrants.

There will also be awards presented to the top three student runners from SS. Peter and Paul School

In addition, there will be a first-time student scholarship award of $500 to Hilbert College (must be a full-time student who has not yet applied to Hilbert College).

Parking will be available at the Clark Street entrance to the Erie County Fairgrounds.
