AAA Insurance announces Buffalo area scholarship winners

BUFFALO _ AAA Members Insurance Agency of Western and Central New York, Inc. is pleased to announce the winners of the fifth annual AAA Insurance Scholarship for Western and Central New York.
Taylor Brown of East Amherst has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Brown is a senior at Williamsville North High School and plans to attend the SUNY College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry in Syracuse, where she will major in environmental engineering. She is the daughter of Jeff and Debbie Brown.
Mary Claire Hamilton of Lancaster has also been awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Hamilton is graduating from St. Mary’s High School and plans to study biology at Cornell University. She is the daughter of Dan and Sandy Hamilton.
Emily Michel of Cheektowaga has been awarded a $500 scholarship. Michel is graduating from Maryvale High School and plans to attend the University of Rochester to study mechanical engineering. She is the daughter of Robert and Tracey Michel.
Melissa Stoj of Orchard Park has also been awarded a $500 scholarship. Stoj is a senior at Orchard Park High School and plans to attend SUNY Brockport and major in Pre-Dental. She is the daughter of Norman Stoj and Holly Becher.
All four students exemplified outstanding academic achievement and community involvement throughout their high school tenure.
This is the fifth year AAA has offered the AAA Insurance Scholarship for Western and Central New York. To be eligible, students must maintain a grade point average of 3.00; demonstrate leadership and volunteerism in their community; actively participate in at least two years of extra-curricular activities; and plan to attend a college, university or accredited technical school in New York State.
The AAA Insurance Scholarship is open to high school students residing in the 25-county territory of AAA Western and Central New York.
