HAMBURG — I was born in Pennsylvania and I grew up in a home with my mother, father and three brothers. I attended 12 years of Catholic school and during that time I was instilled with high morals, principles and values which even today I will not waiver from. After graduation my future education plans were put on hold as my father had a massive heart attack and was forced to retire. I went out a got a job to help out at home. I started in a machine shop where I swept the floor and cleaned out machines. After a couple months I was asked if I would be interested in an apprenticeship program, so I gladly accepted. Five years later I received my journeyman papers. Five years after I received my papers I was promoted to a supervisor where I started to see the inner working of a business.
After five years of being a supervisor I took a job as a plant manager. Now I started to learn even more specifics about how business worked. I relocated to Western NY in 1994 and I worked as a manufacturing manager for the now closed Niagara Machine and Tool Works. Upon closing I filed for unemployment where NY State had a Self Employment Program which I was a candidate to enroll in. I enrolled and in 2000 I formed my own machine shop company. I walked into an empty building and thirteen years later with the help of family, great employees and customers we have 13 employees in a 12500 square foot facility in South Buffalo where we specialize in aerospace and defense components.
Every day I work to keep budgets under control, spending down, costs down and never sacrificing quality or service. We do this thru lean manufacturing as well as integrated supply chains. I intend to bring this experience to work with Supervisor Walters and Councilwoman Ziegler to continue to keep taxes down and not reduce services in the Town of Hamburg. I believe we should always be held accountable to the taxpayers.
I live in Hamburg with my wife Susan and our son Larry. I have volunteered as a soccer coach at the Nike base for seven years. We are very active in many charities around WNY where we always give back to the community.
