The front end of this car was demolished by a runaway dump truck. The vehicle was dragged by the truck. Neither of the drivers were seriously injured.
On Friday, Sept. 21, a dump truck hauling a large utility trailer with a skid steer, lost its brakes while traveling down a steep grade on Liebler Road in the Town of Boston.
The runaway truck ran through the intersection of Liebler and Boston State roads, where it was struck in the side by the a passenger car operated by a 64-year-old Town of Boston woman.
According to New York State Police, the car was dragged about 603 feet from where the truck left the roadway.
[photo2]After leaving the roadway, the truck went through a private yard tearing down a chain link fence, knocked down a utility pole and ripped through a parking area in the Town of Boston Park before stopping by a public fishing pond, New York State Police said.
The car driver sustained bumps and bruises and was transported to the Erie County Medical Center by the Boston EMS for evaluation. The truck driver was not injured.
Charges are expected to be filed against the truck driver, police said.
