Dec. 7 events happening in Blasdell

BLASDELL — Upcoming village events taking place Saturday, Dec. 7 include:

– A coat drive, to gather coats and under-winter items for needy residents, will be held from noon – 4 p.m. at A King’s Ransom Thrift Store, located at 3748 S. Park Ave. Hefner credited the event as being a great activity for helping those less fortunate, adding that A King’s Ransom has many diverse items in its shopping repertoire.

– The annual Village of Blasdell Christmas Party will be held at the Blasdell Volunteer Fire Department. This event will feature refreshments and an appearance from Santa Clause and his elves, following the annual tree-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., which will take place at the corner of Lake and LaBelle avenues.

Deputy Mayor Lou McDonald said that village officials are seeking mechanisms to use for next year’s pumpkin launch, which will be held during Blasdell’s annual Halloween party. Anyone with such items or information may call the village hall at 822-1921.
