Angelo Maraschiello arrested for violating open burning laws

HAMBURG — Town of Hamburg officers Matthew Sherry and Robert Paas were dispatched to a report of a fire at Wynterbrooke Estates on Big Tree Road at 6:42 p.m. on Oct. 6.

Police discovered that smoke was not coming from the apartment, but from a bonfire behind the building. The uncontained fire had been built near a large, wooden pool deck attached to the residence.

The homeowner, Angelo Maraschiello, 64, of Hamburg, extinguished the bonfire at patrol’s request.

The subject was arrested for violating the Hamburg town ordinance on open burning. He was later released on an appearance ticket.
