Hamburg Town Board awards bids for quiet zones

HAMBURG — The Hamburg Town Board opened bids for the construction of the Rogers and Cloverbank roads railroad quiet zones project, during a special meeting held at the end of September.

The bids were reviewed by Erdman Anthony Engineers, who said that Louis Del Prince & Sons Inc. of Cheektowaga was “qualified and responsible,” and recommended that the contract be awarded to that company.

Town Supervisor Steven Walters was authorized to sign the contractual agreement with the firm, in the amount of $176,202. Funding for the work will come from federal highway funding that the town received.

Erdman Anthony was authorized to proceed with the construction services phase of the previously awarded engineering services contract for the project, which will also come from the same federal highway funding.
