Man arrested For stealing gun in burglary

Cheektowaga Police Detectives arrested a Williamsville man Thursday, April 25 for burglarizing his father’s home and stealing a Bushmaster AR15 style rifle days earlier.

Jonathon Cook 21, of Hopkins Road was arrested by Detectives Mike Hockwater, Mark Jedd, and Lt. Ken Rusin after a lengthy investigation. Cook broke into his father’s home on Bert Rd, Cheektowaga on April 21 and stole the rifle. With assistance of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office they were able to recover the stolen gun at a house on Walden Ave in the City of Buffalo.

Cook was charged with burglary 2nd degree and grand larceny 4th degree.
