The Town of Hamburg Police, with the assistance of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, has peacefully resolved the situation with a barricaded male on Victorian Drive in Hamburg.
The incident began sometime before midnight Sunday, Feb. 10 when the subject’s girlfriend came to the Town of Hamburg Police station to report that the man was distraught, had access to a shotgun and had made suicidal threats.
Hamburg patrol responded to the home and observed the armed subject inside.
At that point a perimeter was set and the Hamburg S.W.A.T. team was called out. Negotiations continued on and off for 15 hours until about 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, when the 42-year-old subject surrendered peacefully. He was transported to ECMC for evaluation.
Two shotguns were confiscated from the residence.
