Ronald Buggs has resigned his position as Superintendent of Eden Central School. The resignation became effective Jan.11, when it was accepted by the Eden School Board in a special meeting held that afternoon.
At the meeting, the school board appointed Richard Schaefer, Principal of Eden Elementary School, as interim superintendent. Schaefer has played a key role in the district as Principal of Eden Elementary for many years, and is an active member of the Eden community. “Mr. Schaefer is integrally involved in the workings of our district,” says Board President Steven Cerne. “He will provide continuity and stability during this transition time.”
The search for a new Superintendent is already well underway. It is expected to result in a permanent appointment by the end of the month.
Mr. Buggs ends a 15 year career at Eden. During his tenure, he served as High School Principal, and was promoted to Superintendent in 2005.
