The Town of Evans Police have charged Thomas J. Weber, 64, of Evans with felony first-degree stalking, to commit a specified sex offense; prostitution; attempting to lure a child into a vehicle/building to commit a crime; third-degree attempted rape, victim less than 17 and the perpetrator over 21; second-degree harassment and acting in a manner injurious to a child.

According to police, at about 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, while diving an older vehicle, Weber followed a 16-year-old female Town of Evans resident and allegedly offered her $20 and a pack of cigarettes to have sex with him.

When she walked away from him, he allegedly drove around, pulled ahead of her, parking in the driveway of a vacant lot and began soliciting her again.

He drove off before police arrived at the scene, but on Sunday, Oct.28, he returned to the area, where he was apprehended.

He was in the area because he allegedly left a note in the victim's mailbox asking her to meet him at 1 p.m. on that day.

A computer check shows that he has been arrested previously in Buffalo for two sex offenses, including patronizing a prostitute and exposure. The computer also revealed that there have been other complaints of him following another female.

On Tuesday, Oct. 30, he was arraigned in the Town of Brant Court and was transported to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $5,000 bail.
