ANGOLA — Erie County Legislator John Mills announced that the second annual Angola Library hot dog roast fundraiser, held July 26, raised $1,131 to support the library’s efforts to provide programming to the greater Evans and Angola community.
The donation was presented to Library Director Mary Truby, during a presentation at the library.
Also attending the presentation were village of Angola Trustee Carole Kin, who serves as liaison to the library; Library Board President Jack Kuebler and Library Board Trustee Donna Nagel.
“We had a great afternoon and I want to thank everyone who stopped to make a donation,” Mills said. “I am pleased to announce that Angola set a new record, surpassing last year’s total of $916, and I expect to do even better next year.”
“The community really enjoyed the hot dog fundraiser,” Truby said. “I received many comments on what an enjoyable family-oriented event it was.”
Library Board President Kuebler said that the funds will be added to the library’s building fund and will be used to further furnish the library, including the new meeting/program room, as well as support extended hours of operation.
Mills’ fundraisers have raised nearly $40,000 for the libraries in his district. He purchases the supplies and donates 100 percent of the proceeds.
