The Town of Hamburg's Recreation Department, Senior Center and Adult Daycare will all be under one roof in the near future. An agreement was announced today (May 1) between the town and the Frontier Central School District in which the town will lease the Frontier Community Educational Center at 4540 Southwestern Blvd during a mid-afternoon press conference.
Hamburg Town Supervisor Steven Walters said Frontier Superintendent James Bodziak approached the town after learning that it was seeking a new home for its Adult Daycare facility after learning that BOCES would be vacating the Frontier Community Educational Center at the end of June. Walters announced earlier this year at a town board meeting that the facility has become too small as the program has grown.
"This was a great opportunity for the town," Walters said.
The town is expected to assume control of the building on July 1. Walters said there will be work which needs to be completed before the facility is open, but he is hopeful it will be operational by Jan. 1, 2014.
