WHERE’S THE BEEF? — The Bozanna Pizzeria has closed down and the building has been demolished, making way for an Arby’s. Pictured is the business that will potentially be moving to 5569 Camp Road. Photos by Alicia Greco.
HAMBURG — The Arby’s restaurant on Camp Road will be moving down the street to a property that previously housed Bozanna Pizzeria.
The former local pizza parlor has now been torn down. “We did a demo for it,” said Tim Willard, code enforcement officer for the town of Hamburg.
The Arby’s franchiser is now the sole owner of the property at 5115 Camp Road, where the new restaurant will be built.
GOOD EATS — Pictured is the demolished site of the Bozanna Pizzeria, formerly located at 5115 Camp Road.
A tenant has been lined up for the building of the previous Arby’s location at 5569 Camp Road. Hamburg Town Supervisor Steve Walters said that it is unknown who the tenant is or what the business will be.
“I haven’t heard anything of what’s going into the Arby’s spot, at this point,” Willard said, adding that this is a commercial zone and, so far, only rumors about different businesses are in the air. He said that he could not confirm specifics.
Willard said that plans will begin progressing soon. “If they’re going to do something, they want to do it before the weather gets real bad,” he said, adding that specs for a new Arby’s location have not yet come across his desk. “It could happen this year; it could happen after the first of the year,” he said.
The franchiser of the Arby’s will need to apply to the planning board to have the site reviewed, according to Willard. Once the project is approved by the board, building will commence.
“At this point, there’s not much more information,” Walters said.
Walters and Willard said they will alert The Sun when details arise.
