Lane closures to take place on a portion of Route 5

The New York State Department of Transportation announced that intermittent lane closures are scheduled to begin on Friday, July 19 on Route 5 eastbound and westbound, between Pleasant Avenue and Delameter Road, in the towns of Hamburg and Evans, to conduct road resurfacing. The lane closures will occur daily from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. for approximately three weeks.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
