An arrest has been made in the murder case of Toys 'R' Us Assistant Store Manager Laurence “Larry” Wells II, who was stabbed to death in the Toys 'R' Us store on Milestrip Road in Hamburg in the early morning hours of June 29.
According to early reports, the store’s loss prevention officer has been arrested and charged in the slaying. His name has not been released, as the investigation is ongoing. A Florida Gators hat left at the scene of the murder provided DNA evidence connecting the suspect to the killing.
Wells, 35, lived in Blasdell. Police said that Wells came across the suspect, who was likely in the process of looting the store.
Although the suspect’s name has not yet been released, it is believed that he was arrested at the home of his girlfriend in the village of Alleghany, just outside of Olean. It was reported that he is a suspect in other Toys 'R' Us stores in Pennsylvania.
