Kenmore East Alumni Association plans two events for May 9

Kenmore East High School and its Alumni Association will hold two special events on Friday, May 9. It will conduct its fifth induction ceremony for their Hall of Distinction. Also on that evening, is will hold a KE Alumni Night at Caputi's Sheridan Pub in Tonawanda, featuring a free wine and beer sampling from 8-9 p.m.
The Hall of Distinction honors former students who, throughout their lives, have exhibited those values, qualities and characteristics traditionally held, fostered and encouraged by Kenmore East High School. The inductees have exhibited those traditional Kenmore East values and qualities in an unusual and sustaining manner, and in doing so have not only influenced others, but have also contributed in a significant way to his or her community.
This year’s inductees are:
• Russ Cooper, ’73, director of acoustics, C13 Integraters
• Kevin Harms, ’76, Colonel, USAF (retired)
• John Mika, ’72, president/founder, Teacher’s Desk
• Brian Murphy, ’81, Commander, U.S. Navy (retired)
• Jill Donnelly Tomsic, ’74, (posthumous), school/community advocate
• David Walter, ’77, global business manager, DuPont
• E. Daniel Walther, IV, ’77, community servant
The induction ceremonies will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 9 in the school’s auditorium. The KE Alumni Night at Caputi's Sheridan Pub will begin at 7:30 p.m. All KE Alumni and community members are invited to both events.
